The simple answer is that Kevin and I are newlyweds. It sounds silly for me to say that since we have been together for 4 years but it is a fact. I was inspired to blog by one of my very best friends who has an amazing blog and although I am not the writer she is her excitement about blogging was addictive so here we are!
Ok back to us, Kevin and I were married on September 19, 2010. It was absolutely the best day of our lives regardless of the weather (it was a little rainy so we moved everything in doors; luckily the rain subsided for pictures)!
This is a first marriage for both of us which I think is rare considering our ages (I am 30 and Kevin is 41). I am glad we both waited for the right person to come along. People say that once you have lived together for as long as we did before marriage nothing much changes after the wedding but I can tell you first hand it does. The first change we both noticed was the permanency of it all, we are committed in a new way and it's forever, we can't just pick up and leave now, we are committed.
I know I look at Kevin in a different way, he is my husband, not my boyfriend, I am his and he is mine, it’s a hard feeling to describe.
We also have this intense need to do things the right way, respect each other, love each other and work things out as a team (Team Downey, you might hear that a lot in this blog, it's my new thing). We talk more, about how we feel and about what we are doing wrong. It's crazy how one moment, just a blip on the monitor of life can change everything about your relationship, it's amazing, it's scary, it's something I wouldn't change for anything in the world.
